Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality respiratory care to adult and/or pediatric patients, including ventilator management and weaning
• Perform assessments, monitor respiratory status, and adjust therapies to meet patient needs
• Administer aerosolized medications, oxygen therapy, and airway management interventions
• Obtain and interpret arterial blood gases and recommend treatment changes as appropriate
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement patient care plans
• Document treatments, patient responses, and care plans accurately in the electronic medical record
• Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions, equipment use, and home care plans

Qualifications

• Current Respiratory Therapist credential (RRT or CRT) or equivalent
• State respiratory care license or eligible to obtain Ohio license prior to start
• BLS required; ACLS and NRP preferred or available depending on patient population
• Clinical experience in acute care settings preferred; recent graduates with strong clinical skills are encouraged
• Comfortable with ventilator management, airway care, and ABG interpretation
• Current ACLS/BLS certifications and up-to-date immunizations as required by facility

Education

• Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field required; Bachelor's degree preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of ventilator modes, settings, and troubleshooting
• Proficient in arterial blood gas interpretation and titration of respiratory therapies
• Skilled in airway management, oxygen delivery systems, and aerosol therapy
• Accurate clinical assessment and documentation skills
• Effective communication and teamwork in fast-paced clinical environments
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation best practices
