Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care following care plans
• Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing and mobility
• Take and record vital signs accurately and communicate changes to the care team
• Support safe transfers and ambulation while using proper body mechanics
• Document patient interactions clearly to keep the team informed
• Build trusting relationships with residents and their families through respectful communication

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (required) or active enrollment in an approved program
• State registry eligibility for Maine preferred or willingness to obtain
• Previous CNA experience is a plus; new grads welcome if certified
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Ability to pass required background and health screenings

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an accredited CNA training program and state certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient-centered care and bedside manner
• Reliable vital signs collection and documentation skills
• Good communication and teamwork with interdisciplinary staff
• Comfort with lifting/assisting patients and using safe transfer techniques
• Time management to balance direct care and documentation
• Professionalism, integrity and a compassionate attitude
