Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on personal care and assist residents with activities of daily living
• Monitor and report changes in patients’ conditions to the nursing team to ensure timely care
• Support safe patient transfers and proper use of mobility aids to prevent falls
• Assist with feeding, bathing, dressing, toileting, and grooming while preserving dignity
• Maintain accurate documentation of care, observations, and assigned tasks
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to create a positive patient experience

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification valid in Maine
• Active basic life support (BLS) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Clear background check and ability to meet facility credentialing requirements
• Compassionate attitude, strong communication skills, and a team-first mindset
• Previous experience in long-term care or related settings is a plus but not required

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfortable assisting with ADLs and patient hygiene
• Basic vital signs measurement and observation skills
• Familiarity with infection control and safe patient handling practices
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with residents
• Reliable time management and ability to follow care plans and directions
