Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate hands-on personal care and assist residents with activities of daily living
- Monitor and report changes in patients’ conditions to the nursing team to ensure timely care
- Support safe patient transfers and proper use of mobility aids to prevent falls
- Assist with feeding, bathing, dressing, toileting, and grooming while preserving dignity
- Maintain accurate documentation of care, observations, and assigned tasks
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to create a positive patient experience
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification valid in Maine
- Active basic life support (BLS) certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Clear background check and ability to meet facility credentialing requirements
- Compassionate attitude, strong communication skills, and a team-first mindset
- Previous experience in long-term care or related settings is a plus but not required
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Comfortable assisting with ADLs and patient hygiene
- Basic vital signs measurement and observation skills
- Familiarity with infection control and safe patient handling practices
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with residents
- Reliable time management and ability to follow care plans and directions
