Roles & Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely following facility protocols
• Monitor and document patient status, including vital signs, changes, and interventions
• Provide compassionate bedside care and support to patients and families
• Collaborate with nurses, providers, and the care team to coordinate effective patient care
• Assist with admissions, discharges, and patient education to promote recovery and safe transitions
• Maintain clear, timely electronic charting and handoffs to ensure continuity of care

Qualifications

• Current LPN license in New Mexico or ability to obtain state licensure promptly
• Completion of an accredited practical/vocational nursing program
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; other certifications as facility requests
• Comfort working overnight shifts and with hands-on patient care
• Strong clinical judgement, reliability, and a positive teamwork attitude

Education

• Graduation from an accredited Practical Nursing/Vocational Nursing program
• High school diploma or GED

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid skills in medication administration and patient assessment
• Proficiency with vital signs, wound care basics, and common nursing procedures
• Comfortable with electronic health record charting and documentation
• Excellent communication and patient-focused bedside manner
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and remain calm in a fast-paced setting
