Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care and assistance with activities of daily living
• Support nursing staff with vital signs, documentation, and timely communication of changes
• Assist with safe transfers and mobility to promote patient comfort and independence
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control protocols
• Build trusting relationships with residents and families while preserving dignity
• Collaborate with the care team to ensure accurate charting and continuity of care

Qualifications

• Active CNA certification (must meet New Jersey state requirements)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or required per facility
• Minimum of relevant hands-on patient care experience as a CNA (facility may specify)
• Ability to pass facility background checks and health screenings
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assisting with ADLs: bathing, grooming, toileting, feeding
• Comfortable taking and recording vital signs accurately
• Knowledge of basic infection control and safety precautions
• Ability to follow care plans, report changes, and document clearly
• Excellent interpersonal skills and patience when working with residents
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced long-term care setting
