Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
• Monitor and record vital signs, intake/output, and behavioral observations accurately
• Support mobility and safe transfers while using proper body mechanics and safety protocols
• Assist nursing staff with treatments and documentation in the electronic charting system
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control procedures
• Communicate changes in resident condition promptly and respectfully with the care team and families

Qualifications

• Active CNA or T-CNA certification (West Virginia) required
• Completion of an approved CNA training program
• Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain prior to start
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and facility onboarding requirements
• Comfortable working 12-hour day shifts; travel flexibility for a contract assignment
• Previous long-term care or skilled nursing experience preferred but not required

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong skills in resident personal care and assistance with ADLs
• Proficient in taking and recording vital signs and basic clinical observations
• Knowledge of infection prevention and standard precautions
• Good documentation practices and basic electronic charting familiarity
• Clear, compassionate communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced long-term care environment
