Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on patient care and support daily clinical needs
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
- Monitor and document patient status, reporting changes to the care team
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary staff to deliver coordinated care
- Assist with admission, discharge, and patient education to support recovery
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control protocols
- Support facility workflows during backfill assignments to ensure continuity of care
Qualifications
- Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in Maine or eligible to obtain state licensure
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; additional certifications a plus
- Prior LPN clinical experience preferred, especially in long term care or med-surg settings
- Ability to travel and work a 14-week contract assignment
- Current immunizations and ability to pass facility onboarding requirements
Education
- Graduate of an accredited LPN program (diploma or certificate)
- High school diploma or GED required
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong patient assessment and basic nursing skills
- Medication administration and documentation accuracy
- Wound care and basic dressing changes
- Excellent communication and teamwork with multidisciplinary staff
- Comfortable using electronic health records and completing care plans
- Time management and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
