Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on nursing care to residents during overnight shifts
- Administer medications and document accurately according to policy
- Monitor patient conditions, report changes to RN or provider, and escalate concerns promptly
- Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges as needed
- Maintain clear, timely clinical documentation in the medical record
- Support residents with activities of daily living while preserving dignity and independence
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to deliver coordinated care
Qualifications
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license valid in New Mexico required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred if applicable
- Minimum experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or a similar setting preferred
- Current immunizations and the ability to pass background and drug screenings
- Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and documentation skills
- Ability to work overnight shifts and provide leadership when charge RN is not on site
Education
- Practical Nursing diploma or equivalent and active LPN license

- Medication administration and safe dosage calculation
- Wound care basics and dressing changes
- Patient assessment and vital sign monitoring
- Skilled documentation and electronic charting systems
- Effective communication with patients, families, and care teams
- Time management and prioritization during high-acuity situations
