Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on nursing care to assigned patients
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered and document accurately
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, changes in condition, and response to care
- Perform wound care, catheter care, and other skilled nursing procedures as required
- Communicate clearly with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
- Follow infection control policies and promote a safe environment for patients
Qualifications
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license valid in New Mexico (required)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification or willingness to obtain
- Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or medical-surgical settings preferred
- Ability to work 12+ hour day shifts and reliably staff Sunday, Monday, Friday
- Strong communication skills and a patient-centered approach
- Local-only candidate (position is restricted to local hires)
Education
- Completion of an accredited Practical Nursing program and LPN licensure
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid knowledge of medication administration and dosage calculations
- Skilled in patient assessment and monitoring of changes in condition
- Proficient with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
- Comfortable performing basic nursing procedures and wound care
- Good infection control practices and adherence to facility protocols
- Team-oriented with strong time management and prioritization skills
