Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to residents at the facility
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
- Perform routine assessments, monitor patient condition, and report changes promptly
- Document nursing interventions and chart in the electronic health record thoroughly
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to support patient goals
- Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges while maintaining dignity and comfort
Qualifications
- Current, active LPN license in New Mexico (required)
- Completion of an accredited practical nursing program
- Current BLS/CPR certification (or willing to obtain prior to start)
- Ability to work the scheduled Thursday-Saturday, 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM shift
- Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar setting preferred
- Current immunizations and ability to meet facility health requirements
Education
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing (LPN) program
Knowledge & Skills
- Medication administration and documentation best practices
- Basic wound care and lifting/transfer assistance
- Strong communication and bedside manner with residents and families
- Time management and prioritization during extended shifts
- Familiarity with infection control standards and safety protocols
- Comfort using electronic health record systems for charting
