Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on nursing care to patients consistent with LPN scope of practice
- Administer medications, monitor patient status, and document care accurately and promptly
- Collaborate with RNs, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team to support patient care plans
- Perform routine assessments, wound care, and treatments while escalating changes appropriately
- Maintain precise charting and follow facility policies to ensure patient safety and compliance
- Mentor and communicate with patients and families to promote comfort and understanding
Qualifications
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of practice (New Mexico)
- Travel LPN experience or willingness to work as a travel clinician is a plus
- Current BLS/CPR certification (or ability to obtain prior to start)
- Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and required facility onboarding
- Comfort with overnight/extended shifts and strong clinical judgment in fast-paced settings
Education
- Graduate of an accredited LPN/Vocational Nursing program
- Current LPN license required
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in medication administration and nursing assessments
- Experience with wound care and common LPN procedures
- Strong documentation skills and attention to detail
- Effective communication and teamwork with multidisciplinary staff
- Adaptability to new EMR systems and facility protocols
