Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, promoting dignity and comfort
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
- Take and record vital signs and report changes to the nursing team promptly
- Document resident care accurately and communicate effectively during handoffs
- Support safe transfer and fall-prevention practices to protect residents
- Work collaboratively with nurses and support staff to deliver exceptional care
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (Certified Nursing Assistant) — required
- Active state CNA registration or eligibility to register in New Mexico
- Able to start locally within 2 weeks (LOCAL ONLY, ASAP starts noted)
- Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred
- Basic life support/CPR certification preferred or willing to obtain
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited CNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong skills in personal care and assistance with ADLs
- Comfortable taking and recording vital signs accurately
- Clear, compassionate communication with residents and team members
- Good observational skills and the ability to report clinical changes
- Teamwork, dependability, and time management in a busy care setting
- Basic documentation skills and comfort with care charts and flowsheets
