Roles & Responsibilities
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely according to facility policy
- Monitor resident conditions and report changes promptly to the care team
- Document care, observations, and interventions clearly in the medical record
- Provide compassionate assistance with activities of daily living and personal care
- Collaborate with RNs, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members to deliver resident-centered care
- Perform timely shift handoffs and participate in care planning to ensure continuity
- Adhere to infection control, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements
- Support residents and families with clear communication and health education
Qualifications
- Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in Maine (required)
- Current BLS/CPR certification (required or obtained upon hire)
- Prior experience in long-term care or skilled nursing is preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and medication administration skills
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and time-management abilities
- Ability to pass background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements
Education
- Completion of an accredited Practical Nursing (LPN) program
Knowledge & Skills
- Medication administration and documentation best practices
- Basic clinical assessment and vital sign monitoring
- Electronic charting and documentation systems familiarity
- Infection control procedures and safe patient handling
- Effective communication with residents, families, and care teams
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced care environment
