Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and mobility
- Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes in condition to the clinical team promptly
- Assist with safe transfers and positioning to promote resident comfort and prevent injury
- Support individualized care plans by following instructions from nurses and rehabilitation staff
- Maintain accurate documentation of resident care, observations, and interventions
- Collaborate with the care team to deliver a respectful, dignified experience for every resident
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification — required
- Eligible for or holding any state-required CNA registration for New Mexico
- Comfortable working 12+ hour day shifts (6:00 AM - 6:30 PM) on assigned days
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Preferred: prior experience in rehab, long-term care, or similar settings
- Preferred: current CPR/BLS certification; ability to complete background check and drug screen
Education
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of an approved CNA training program and active CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of basic nursing care and resident-centered practices
- Skill in assisting with ADLs, transfers, and mobility support
- Familiarity with vital sign measurement and documentation
- Ability to follow care plans and report clinical changes accurately
- Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and cultural sensitivity
- Basic charting and electronic documentation skills
