Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and feeding with dignity and compassion
- Monitor and record vital signs and report meaningful changes to the nursing team promptly
- Support rehabilitation goals by assisting with mobility, exercises, and transfers as directed
- Maintain clear, accurate documentation to ensure continuity of care
- Promote a safe, clean environment by following infection control and safety protocols
- Build trusting relationships with residents and families through respectful, patient-centered care
- Collaborate with nurses and therapy staff to help meet individualized care plans
Qualifications
- Valid CNA certification in New Mexico (required)
- Current CPR/BLS certification (preferred or required by facility policy)
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Ability to pass background check and meet facility immunization requirements
- Previous experience in rehab, long-term care, or similar setting is a plus
- Dependable, compassionate, and able to work the scheduled weekend-focused shifts
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred; active CNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Fundamentals of patient care and resident assistance
- Safe transfer and lifting techniques
- Basic vital signs measurement and documentation
- Infection control and universal precautions
- Clear communication and teamwork skills
- Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
