Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor patient condition, recognizing changes and escalating appropriately
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Coordinate patient care with interdisciplinary team members for best outcomes
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses clearly in the chart
- Provide compassionate education and support to patients and families
- Respond swiftly to emergencies and participate in unit-based quality initiatives
Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted RN license in New Mexico or compact RN licensure
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced certifications (ACLS) a plus
- Clinical experience in a nursing setting preferred
- Solid communication skills and ability to work well on a night-focused team
- Ability to pass required background and health screenings
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Medication administration and IV skills
- Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate documentation
- Infection control, patient safety, and basic wound care knowledge
- Time management, prioritization, and teamwork under busy conditions
