Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to patients during overnight hours
- Perform thorough assessments and develop timely care plans that support positive outcomes
- Administer medications and treatments accurately while monitoring for patient responses
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate seamless patient care
- Document patient status and interventions clearly in the medical record
- Respond to emergencies and changes in condition with calm, competent action
- Educate patients and families with clarity and empathy to support recovery and discharge
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico (or eligible to obtain)
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred or available upon hire
- Prior medical-surgical or acute care nursing experience preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work overnight shifts and manage patient loads independently
- Strong communication skills and teamwork mindset
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
Knowledge & Skills
- Clinical assessment and critical thinking for acute-care patients
- Medication administration and IV therapy competency
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
- Ability to prioritize tasks and respond effectively in emergent situations
- Patient and family education with an emphasis on clear, compassionate communication
