Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate assistance with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting) to promote dignity and comfort
- Monitor residents closely, record vital signs and behaviors, and promptly report changes to the nursing team
- Document care accurately and thoroughly in the resident chart to ensure continuity and safety
- Assist with safe transfers, positioning, and ambulation to reduce fall risk
- Support mealtime and hydration needs while encouraging independence whenever possible
- Follow infection control and safety procedures to protect residents and staff
- Communicate respectfully and clearly with residents, families, and coworkers to deliver person-centered care
Qualifications
- Current LNA (Licensed Nursing Assistant) certification — VT or NH licensure referenced in posting
- Ability to work overnight shifts (11:00 PM - 7:00 AM) and stay alert for resident needs
- Local candidate required — must have own reliable vehicle
- Willingness to commit to the local 14-week assignment timeframe (Dec 1, 2025 - Mar 2, 2026)
- Strong communication skills, compassion, and teamwork mindset
- CPR/BLS certification and prior long-term care experience are a plus
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a state-approved nursing assistant program (LNA training)
Knowledge & Skills
- Comfortable with personal care tasks and supporting resident independence
- Basic vital signs measurement and observation skills
- Accurate documentation and charting practices
- Infection prevention and safe patient handling techniques
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time on overnight shifts, and escalate concerns appropriately
- Strong interpersonal skills for working with residents, families, and a multidisciplinary team
