Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents and patients, preserving dignity and comfort
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and feeding
- Monitor and record patient conditions and vital signs accurately and promptly
- Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
- Document care and communicate changes to the nursing team to ensure continuity
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control and safety protocols
- Engage residents with therapeutic activities and emotional support to improve quality of life
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential required
- Must be eligible to work in West Virginia and hold or obtain any required state CNA registration
- Ability to pass facility-required background check and drug screen
- Current BLS/CPR preferred or willing to obtain
- Comfortable working overnight shifts and providing hands-on resident care
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- CNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong patient care skills and experience with ADLs
- Basic knowledge of infection control and safety procedures
- Good documentation and communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and take direction from nursing staff
- Time management and the ability to prioritize in a busy care setting
- Empathy, patience, and a resident-centered approach
