Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, high-quality nursing care to adult and/or acute patients with clinical confidence
• Perform focused neurological assessments using NIHSS and act quickly on changes in patient status
• Administer medications and monitor patient responses while ensuring safety and accuracy
• Lead trauma and emergency interventions in line with TNCC and ACLS protocols
• Collaborate proactively with physicians, therapists, and the care team to coordinate patient-centered plans
• Complete Trinity specialty competency testing and skills checklists to maintain clinical excellence
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and follow hospital policies for infection control and safety
• Support patient and family education with clarity, empathy, and respect

Qualifications

• Active RN license (able to work in Iowa or hold a compact license as required)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• TNCC and NIHSS certifications required or ability to obtain per facility policy
• Ability to pass Trinity specialty competency testing and Trinity skills checklist
• Must clear Trinity 10-panel drug screen, fit test, and health requirements (COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hep B, Tdap, influenza, TB testing or IGRA, varicella, physical)
• Valid government ID and successful license/certificate verification
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate in a fast-paced acute care environment
• Previous acute care, telemetry, stroke, or emergency experience preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in neurological and trauma assessments with emphasis on stroke-related care
• Proficient in medication administration, IV therapy, and acute patient monitoring
• Comfortable working with electronic health records and clinical documentation
• Knowledge of ACLS and BLS algorithms and resuscitation protocols
• Ability to perform under pressure and prioritize in emergencies
• Team-oriented approach with good clinical judgment and patient advocacy
