Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to adults and trauma/stroke patients using evidence-based practices
- Perform rapid assessments and initiate appropriate interventions including ACLS and BLS protocols
- Use the NIH Stroke Scale to evaluate and document neurologic status accurately
- Apply trauma nursing principles from TNCC to triage, stabilize, and coordinate care
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and execute individualized care plans
- Complete Trinity specialty competency testing and skills checklists to demonstrate clinical readiness
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of patient care, treatments, and outcomes
- Participate in infection prevention, immunization verification, and occupational health requirements
Qualifications
- Active RN license or ability to verify current license/certification
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- TNCC certification and NIHSS competency as listed
- Successful completion of Trinity specialty specific competency testing and skills checklist
- Ability to pass Fit Test, Trinity 10 Panel Drug Screen, and required immunizations/vaccines
- Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced hospital setting
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, ASN, or BSN preferred)
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency in trauma assessment and emergency response workflows
- Skilled in stroke assessment using the NIH Stroke Scale
- Competence in ACLS and BLS protocols and resuscitation skills
- Clinical documentation and electronic health record familiarity
- IV therapy, medication administration, and bedside clinical procedures
- Ability to perform specialty-specific competency tasks and checklist items
