Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Primarily day shifts with flexible scheduling to meet department needs: examples include 06:00 AM - 06:30 PM, 08:00 AM - 06:30 PM, or 09:00 AM - 06:30 PM; schedule varies across weekdays and weekends; includes weeknight call (approximately every 1-2 weeks), weekend call (approximately every 4-5th weekend), 30-minute response time, and holiday rotation. Day shift / rotating call schedule.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care consistent with RN scope of practice and facility standards
- Perform thorough assessments, document findings, and communicate changes in patient condition clearly and promptly
- Deliver evidence-based interventions and coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Respond to call assignments within the required 30-minute response time and manage urgent situations calmly and efficiently
- Participate in holiday and weekend rotations and contribute to a reliable, collaborative on-call schedule
- Complete required specialty competency testing and skills checklists to maintain clinical proficiency
- Support continuous quality improvement initiatives and follow infection control and safety protocols
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Iowa with license/certificate verification
- Current ACLS, BLS, TNCC, and NIHSS certifications as listed
- Completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist per facility requirements
- Ability to pass required health screenings: fit test, 10-panel drug screen, immunizations (Tdap, MMR, Hep B, Varicella, influenza), COVID-19 vaccine, and TB testing (2-step PPD or IGRA)
- Comfort with flexible scheduling, including weeknight and weekend call rotations and holiday coverage
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills; dependable response time for on-call duties
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
- BSN preferred where applicable
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in acute nursing assessments and patient monitoring
- Skilled in stroke assessment tools (NIHSS) and emergency response protocols
- Comfortable with call rotation workflows and rapid response expectations
- Familiarity with Trinity specialty competency processes and documentation
- Strong clinical judgment, prioritization, and time management under pressure
- Effective interdisciplinary communication and patient/family education
