Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor cardiac telemetry and interpret strips to detect and respond to arrhythmias promptly
• Titrate cardiovascular drips (e.g., Cardizem, amiodarone, nitro) per protocol to stabilize patients
• Perform rapid, critical patient assessments and escalate changes in condition effectively
• Provide hands-on care for stepdown/PCU patients including admissions, discharges, and frequent reassessments
• Chart thoroughly and efficiently in EPIC to maintain accurate, real-time patient records
• Troubleshoot respiratory equipment such as CPAPs and collaborate with Respiratory Therapy as needed
• Float to ICU when appropriate and work collaboratively with the team to manage higher-acuity patients
• Participate in orientation requirements including pass/fail skills exam to ensure competency

Qualifications

• Active RN license (eligible to work in the assigned state)
• Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience (telemetry/stepdown preferred)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification required
• Comfort and experience with telemetry interpretation and drip titration
• Valid driver’s license required at time of submittal (used for radius verification)
• Comfort working fast-paced admissions/discharges and ability to float to ICU when needed

Education

• Active RN license required
• BSN not required (no BSN mandate noted)

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and rhythm interpretation
• Medication/drip titration and hemodynamic management
• Critical patient assessment and rapid intervention
• EPIC charting proficiency
• Familiarity troubleshooting CPAP and partnering with RT
• Teamwork, positive attitude, and patient-centered care
• Ability to work cyclic schedules and cover every-other weekend
