Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert critical care nursing for ICU and CV recovery patients, managing high-acuity cases like respiratory failure, ARDS, sepsis, AMI, post-CABG and TAVR
• Safely administer and manage cardiac and vasoactive drips, conscious sedation, and advanced hemodynamic support
• Monitor and interpret telemetry and EKG strips, participating in multidisciplinary rounds to optimize patient outcomes
• Collaborate with RT, pharmacy, intensivists and the care team to coordinate 24/7 care and rapid responses
• Float to MedSurg/Telemetry units (4E, 4W, 5E, 5W & 6E) as needed, prioritizing traveler float assignments
• Complete required unit orientation, competency testing (including EKG interpretation and STEMI/procedural sedation curricula as applicable)
• Maintain accurate documentation in Cerner EMR and follow hospital policies for breaks and shift handoffs

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license (able to submit license for placement)
• Minimum 2 years of critical care nursing experience (ICU/ED/PICU or equivalent)
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Cerner EMR experience required
• Comfortable with telemetry monitoring, ventilator management, and cardiac drip management
• No first-time travelers — prior travel contract experience required
• Willingness to float and work every-other-weekend scheduling

Education

• Active RN license required
• BSN preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and EKG interpretation
• Ventilator management in collaboration with Respiratory Therapy
• Cardiac/Vasoactive drip titration and hemodynamic monitoring
• Critical care assessment and rapid response participation
• Familiarity with Cerner electronic charting
• Ability to work in high-acuity, fast-paced ICU/CV recovery settings
• Comfort with procedural sedation and STEMI care pathways (if assigned)
