Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM, days (self-scheduled in 4-week blocks) with 2 weekends required per 4-week schedule; holiday coverage expected (Christmas, New Year, Thanksgiving)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor telemetry patients, interpreting ECG strips and documenting/signing at least once per shift
- Provide high-quality acute med-surg nursing care for respiratory, GI, endocrine, neuro (CVA/TIA), and orthopedic/spinal surgical patients
- Administer medications and manage set-rate drips such as diltiazem according to unit protocols
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members including tele/monitor techs, respiratory therapy, and charge nurse to coordinate safe patient care
- Document thoroughly in Cerner to maintain accurate, real-time patient records
- Float to East Campus or PCU as needed when qualified — bring your adaptability and can-do attitude
- Support unit flow and patient safety while maintaining professional, patient-centered care
Qualifications
- Current RN (Registered Nurse) — position title indicates RN required
- ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience
- Ability to read and interpret basic telemetry/ECG strips and sign at least once per shift
- Experience with general and orthopedic surgical patients, and neuro patients (CVA/TIA) preferred
- Cerner experience recommended (orientation is brief)
- Comfort working 12-hour shifts and participating in unit float assignments when needed
Education
- Nursing degree (ADN/ASN/diploma or BSN). BSN not required
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and ECG/telemetry strip interpretation
- Acute med-surg nursing skills including post-op ortho/spinal care
- Familiarity with BiPAP, CPAP, and high-flow oxygen therapies
- Medication administration and set-rate drip management (diltiazem at set rate)
- Cerner electronic charting proficiency (recommended)
- Strong assessment, critical-thinking, and teamwork abilities
