Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, rotating days and nights including weekends (minimum 2 of every 6) and holiday coverage as needed

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients across the age spectrum from pediatrics to geriatrics
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry and other monitor data to spot changes early
• Titrate IV drips and set infusions safely according to protocol, including insulin, heparin, and vasoactive medications
• Collaborate with the nursing coordinator, physicians, and interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care
• Use Meditech to document assessments, interventions, and care plans accurately and timely
• Perform patient assessments, administer medications, and manage common acute and chronic conditions
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans with empathy and clarity
• Respond to changes in patient condition, escalating to higher level of care when needed while remaining within scope of practice

Qualifications

• Current RN license eligible for submission in North Dakota
• Minimum 1 year of recent MedSurg, Telemetry, and Peds nursing experience
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS
• Comfortable titrating drips and managing high-flow and ventilator/BiPAP patients
• Experience with Meditech charting is preferred
• Previous travel nurse experience preferred but not required
• Ability to work rotating days/nights and meet weekend/holiday requirements

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) accepted
• BSN preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong MedSurg assessment and clinical decision-making skills
• Telemetry interpretation and monitor reading proficiency
• Familiarity with ventilator, BiPAP, heated high-flow, and oxygen delivery devices
• IV titration and medication administration (insulin, heparin, lasix, cardizem, etc.)
• Comfort working with patients across the lifespan from pediatrics to geriatrics
• Effective communication and teamwork in a small hospital setting
• Charting and documentation in Meditech
