Roles & Responsibilities

• Serve as a strong charge/preceptor RN leading and mentoring staff while ensuring excellent patient care
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Manage telemetry patients and interpret monitoring trends to act promptly on clinical changes
• Provide expert central line care, including dressing changes and maintenance
• Deliver compassionate med-surg and oncology nursing for a mixed acuity unit
• Chart accurately and efficiently in Cerner to maintain clear, timely patient records
• Coordinate with resource nurses, monitor techs, and ancillary teams to optimize patient flow
• Float to other med-surg units as needed while maintaining standards of care
• Respond to stand-by/call requests within the required timeframe when placed on call

Qualifications

• Active RN license eligible for California submission
• Minimum 2 years of recent clinical nursing experience
• BLS and ACLS required
• Strong central line experience required; PICC/midline experience is a plus
• Telemetry and med-surg/oncology experience required
• Chemo certification is a bonus
• Comfortable precepting and functioning in a charge/preceptor role
• Experience with Cerner EMR preferred

Education

• Active RN license (required)
• ADN or BSN acceptable; BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation
• Central line maintenance and infection prevention
• MedSurg and oncology patient care principles
• Cerner EMR documentation and charting workflows
• Precepting and staff development techniques
• Resource nurse coordination and shift leadership
• Ability to manage patient ratios (1:5 med-surg, 1:4 chemo/telemetry as applicable)
• Familiarity with remote telemetry monitoring systems
