Shift Type: Rotating nights, 12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM; schedules built in 4-week blocks with self-scheduling (manager finalizes); weekend requirement: 2 weekends per 4-week schedule; holiday coverage as scheduled (Christmas, New Year, Thanksgiving)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care on a busy MedSurg/Telemetry unit
- Interpret telemetry strips and document/sign at least once per shift
- Monitor and manage telemetry and cardiac monitoring for post-op, neuro, and medical patients
- Administer set-rate drips such as diltiazem per unit protocol
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including tele/monitor techs, RT, and charge nurses to ensure coordinated care
- Float to East Campus or PCU as needed and safely care for a variety of patient populations
- Maintain accurate electronic charting in Cerner and complete required orientation promptly
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) with active licensure (able to practice in AZ)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience (MedSurg/Telemetry experience preferred)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Comfortable reading and interpreting basic telemetry strips
- Experience with general and orthopedic surgical patients, CVA/TIA care preferred
- Cerner charting experience recommended due to short unit orientation
Education
- BSN not required (BSN not required for this role)
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and telemetry strip interpretation
- MedSurg nursing care and post-op orthopedic/spinal patient management
- Cardiac monitoring and recognition of arrhythmias
- Familiarity with CPAP, BiPAP and high flow oxygen therapies
- Administration of set-rate drips such as diltiazem
- Electronic health record documentation in Cerner
- Strong assessment, prioritization, and delegation skills in a 1:5 ratio unit
