Shift Type: Nights, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts; rotating schedule that covers nights across the week, includes every-other-weekend (approximately 4 weekend shifts per 4 weeks) and holiday rotation

Candidate Pay Rate: $57 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high-acuity nursing care for medical telemetry patients, interpreting EKGs and monitoring telemetry continuously
- Administer medications, manage IV lines and perform sterile procedures including Foley insertion and central line dressing care
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (RT, pharmacy, SWAT IV team) to optimize patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate charting in Cerner and communicate changes in patient condition promptly
- Participate in unit-specific orientation and pass competency SIMs labs for sterile technique and device skills
- Support charge nurse processes and work with PCTs to coordinate patient care and turnover
Qualifications
- Active RN license (able to submit license; facility will accept waiting if needed)
- Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience (clinical requirement listed as 2 years)
- BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
- Demonstrated IV experience — this is a MUST
- Telemetry nursing experience with EKG interpretation skills
- Comfortable working in a Level 1 trauma, high-acuity environment and 1:4 ratios
- Ability to pass required DYS exam prior to accepting assignment and pass day-1 SIMs Lab (two attempts allowed for DYS exam)
- Travel-ready: own vehicle required for travel teams; follow facility appearance and fit-test requirements (natural hair color, no facial piercings; men clean-shaven for fit test)
Education
- Active RN licensure (required)
- BSN not required for this role
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong telemetry monitoring and EKG interpretation
- IV insertion/management and familiarity with SWAT IV support processes
- Sterile technique for central line dressing changes and Foley catheter insertion
- Experience charting in Cerner EMR
- High-acuity assessment and critical thinking under pressure
- Comfort with vents such as BiPAP/CPAP when patients are independent
- Team communication and collaboration with charge nurses, RT and pharmacy
