Roles & Responsibilities

• Titrate vasoactive and other cardiac drips safely and precisely per protocol
• Monitor telemetry and interpret EKGs to recognize dysrhythmias and act quickly
• Provide high-quality post-operative cardiac and general Telemetry care
• Float between Telemetry, MedSurg and higher-acuity units as needed, including occasional ICU or Cath Lab support
• Collaborate with PCTs, physicians, RT and pharmacy to coordinate patient care
• Document care accurately in Cerner and adhere to hospital policies and charting standards
• Complete required dysrhythmia competency and participate in day-one Sim Lab

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (eligible to work in AZ or hold AZ RN license)
• Minimum 2 years of acute care/telemetry experience
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required; NIHSS required for Neuro assignments
• Proven ability to titrate cardiac drips (amiodarone, dobutamine, cardizem, cardene, nitro, heparin) per unit policy
• Comfortable interpreting EKGs and passing a dysrhythmia exam (2 attempts max prior to contract)
• Willingness to float between units and between Chandler & Mercy Gilbert campuses
• Experience with Cerner and central monitoring systems preferred

Education

• Active RN license required (BSN not required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and centralized telemetry workflows
• EKG interpretation and dysrhythmia recognition
• Vasoactive medication titration and post-cath/cardiac postop care
• MedSurg and Telemetry nursing fundamentals, plus ICU/Cath Lab familiarity
• Use of Cerner and GE monitoring equipment
• Team-based communication with PCTs, RT, pharmacy and physicians
• Prior experience in a float pool or rotating-unit environment
