Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess, monitor and deliver compassionate care to patients from pediatrics through geriatrics
• Titrate and manage IV drips (insulin, heparin, Lasix, Cardizem and more) safely and per protocol
• Interpret cardiac telemetry and intervene appropriately to keep patients stable
• Administer medications including insulin and heparin with accurate documentation
• Operate and troubleshoot respiratory support equipment such as BiPAP, ventilators and heated high-flow
• Document thorough, timely charting in Meditech to ensure continuity of care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including RTs and house supervisors, to coordinate patient care
• Provide patient and family education tailored to each diagnosis and recovery plan
• Support unit flow and occasionally float to other departments within scope of practice

Qualifications

• Active RN license (eligible to practice in the assignment state)
• BLS, ACLS and PALS required prior to start
• Minimum 1 year of recent MedSurg/Telemetry/Pediatrics nursing experience
• Comfortable with IV drip titration and telemetry interpretation
• Prior travel experience preferred but not required — strong clinical skills will stand out
• Able to work rotating 12-hour shifts, weekends and holidays as required
• Willingness to float within scope of practice when needed

Education

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• BSN preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• IV drip titration and set-rate infusion management
• Cardiac monitoring interpretation and telemetry management
• Meditech charting and electronic documentation best practices
• Use of respiratory support equipment: BiPAP, ventilator, high-flow and CPAP
• Medication administration for adult and pediatric populations
• Assessment across the lifespan — pediatrics to geriatrics
• Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking and teamwork
• Effective patient/family communication and education skills
