Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality telemetry and medical-surgical nursing care for a 46-bed inpatient telemetry unit
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and respond to dysrhythmias quickly and confidently
• Perform and maintain sterile technique for Foley catheter insertions and central line dressing changes as required
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including RT and pharmacy to coordinate patient-centered care
• Provide patient education, documentation in Cerner, and timely communication with charge nurses and providers
• Step into charge duties when assigned and support PCT/Nursing Aides for smooth unit operations
• Participate in required SIMs Lab skills validation and maintain competency with lifts, restraints, and wound care

Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing and eligible to work in Arizona
• Minimum 2 years of recent telemetry or medical-surgical nursing experience
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications (required)
• Travel nursing experience preferred and ability to pass a dysrhythmia exam (2 attempts)
• Comfort with Cerner electronic charting and telemetry monitoring
• Willingness to float to sister facility in Laveen and work weekends in rotation
• COVID vaccine required or completed declination form with supporting clergy or MD documentation

Education

• Active RN license (required)
• BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia recognition
• Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing change with sterile technique
• Medical-surgical nursing care across neurology, cardiology, urology, ortho, general surgery, renal, pulmonology and ID
• Proficiency with Cerner EMR and accurate clinical documentation
• Basic phlebotomy skills and willingness to assist with draws when needed
• Strong prioritization, delegation and teamwork in a fast-paced acute care setting
