Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, includes weekends (4 weekend shifts per 8 weeks); night-focused schedule with occasional float to telemetry/ICU

Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Interpret telemetry and EKGs to detect dysrhythmias and escalate care promptly
- Titrate drips including heparin, amiodarone, diltiazem, and insulin per protocol
- Provide focused neuro-telemetry nursing for patients with CVA, TBI, spinal surgery and related diagnoses
- Perform and maintain sterile technique for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes (SIMs Lab pass/fail required)
- Document timely and accurately in Cerner, including bedside report handoffs
- Support unit flow with fast-paced admissions, discharges, and a 1:4 staffing ratio
- Take light charge duties as assigned and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (RT, pharmacy, hospitalists)
- Participate in lifts, restraints, and wound care education and apply safe patient handling practices
Qualifications
- Current RN license eligible for Arizona submission (license to submit accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience — neuro/telemetry experience highly preferred
- Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
- Must have Level 1 trauma experience (this is a hard requirement)
- Proven ability to titrate drips (amiodarone, diltiazem/Cardizem, insulin)
- Competency in Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes or willingness to complete SIMs Lab successfully
- Ability to pass a dysrhythmia exam (two attempts allowed) and day 1 orientation pass/fail skills checks
- Must be able to provide own vehicle for travel team requirements and meet facility appearance/fit-test policies (e.g., no facial piercings; clean-shaven for fit test when required)
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required; BSN preferred but not required
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and EKG/dysrhythmia interpretation
- IV therapy, drip titration and vasoactive/antiarrhythmic medication administration
- Central line care and sterile field maintenance
- Experience with Cerner electronic medical record
- Neuro-focused assessment (CVA, TBI, encephalopathy) and related interventions
- Safe patient handling, restraints, wound care and bedside reporting
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-turnover acute care unit
