Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor adult medical-surgical and telemetry patients, recognizing changes in condition and escalating concerns promptly
• Administer medications and IV therapies safely using Alaris IV pumps and follow hospital protocols
• Perform accurate documentation in Epic to ensure clear, timely patient records
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate excellent patient-centered care
• Provide patient and family education about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge planning
• Float to neighboring units (6E, acute rehab, geriatric psych) as needed while maintaining high standards of care
• Participate in orientation activities and complete required competency assessments

Qualifications

• Active RN license (eligible to practice in Nebraska) required for submission
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience, preferably in telemetry or medical-surgical settings
• BLS certification required; other relevant certifications a plus
• Comfortable and experienced with Epic charting and Alaris IV pumps
• Valid driver's license required at time of submission (radius rule enforcement)
• Able to pass an open-book orientation skills exam with a 90% score (per facility policy)
• Must not be currently employed (FT/PT/PRN) at any CommonSpirit facility including CHI or Dignity
• Positive, team-focused attitude and ability to work every other weekend

Education

• Active RN license required
• BLS certification required
• BSN preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation
• Medical-surgical nursing best practices
• Proficiency with Epic electronic medical record
• Experience with Alaris IV pump programming and troubleshooting
• Strong clinical assessment and prioritization skills
• Clear communication and teamwork across disciplines
• Cultural sensitivity; familiarity with diverse patient populations (including Korean-speaking patients) is a plus
