Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM (Day) or 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (Night); schedule varies across all days of the week with a weekend requirement of 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule; typically 3 shifts/week (guaranteed 36 hours/week)

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide safe, patient-centered care for ED holds and telemetry patients using strong cardiac monitoring skills
- Interpret ECG strips and respond to dysrhythmias according to protocols and physician orders
- Titrate cardiac drips (Cardizem, Heparin, Amiodarone) within ordered parameters and document changes accurately
- Perform IV starts and medication administration with attention to safety and best practice
- Collaborate with ED charge nurse and multidisciplinary team to prioritize patient placement and care
- Float to med/surg, telemetry, and overflow units as needed to support patient flow
- Complete documentation in Cerner thoroughly and timely
Qualifications
- Active RN license (able to practice in Arizona or able to obtain state authorization)
- Minimum 2 years recent RN experience with a strong cardiac telemetry background (experience must be recent within the past 6 months)
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications (NIHSS required - AHA or APEX)
- Comfort titrating cardiac drips and following physician parameters
- Willingness to pass a RELIAS dysrhythmia exam within 48 hours of offer (2 attempts max) and pass a pass/fail SIM lab on day one of orientation
- Experience with Cerner or similar electronic health record preferred
- Ability to work rotating 12-hour day and night shifts and meet weekend/holiday requirements
Education
- Active RN license in good standing
- BSN preferred but not required
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
- ECG/strip reading and dysrhythmia recognition
- Titration of cardiac drips and medication administration
- IV starts and vascular access skills
- NIHSS assessment for stroke-related care
- Experience charting in Cerner
- Comfort working in an acute ED hold/telemetry environment and floating to med/surg
