Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), rotating across all days of the week with 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule; primarily night assignment available with self-scheduling and occasional float coverage
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $57 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate care to ED hold and telemetry patients while they await placement
- Continuously monitor cardiac telemetry and interpret EKGs and dysrhythmias accurately
- Titrate cardiac drips (e.g., Cardizem, Heparin, Amiodarone) per physician orders and unit protocols
- Perform IV starts, vital signs monitoring, and medication administration with clinical confidence
- Collaborate with ED charge RN, physicians, and interdisciplinary team to prioritize patient flow
- Float to med/surg, telemetry, or overflow units as staffing needs require
- Participate in orientation and pass required dysrhythmia exam and simulation lab to ensure competency
- Document care accurately in Cerner and communicate changes clearly during handoff
Qualifications
- Active RN license (able to work in Arizona) and eligibility to submit licensure
- BLS and ACLS certifications required prior to start
- Minimum of 2 years of strong cardiac telemetry experience preferred
- Demonstrated ability to read/interpret cardiac strips and perform EKG/dysrhythmia interpretation
- Experience titrating cardiac drips and working within set physician parameters
- Comfort with ED holds population and ability to float to med/surg/tele units
- Must pass a dysrhythmia exam (UNA) and a day-one pass/fail simulation lab
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — BSN preferred but not required
- Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
- EKG/dysrhythmia recognition and reading cardiac strips
- Drip titration and management of Cardizem, Heparin, Amiodarone
- ED holds workflow and med/surg/tele patient care
- IV starts, medication administration, and accurate vital signs assessment
- Familiarity with Cerner electronic charting
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and team collaboration
