Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care across Telemetry and MedSurg units
• Titrate cardiac drips safely and confidently according to protocols
• Interpret EKGs and recognize dysrhythmias to support timely clinical decisions
• Float between units (ICU, Cardiac Tele, MedSurg, observation areas) and adapt quickly to changing patient needs
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, RTs, pharmacy, and PCTs for coordinated care
• Participate in required simulation lab orientation and demonstrate competency on day one
• Document care accurately in Cerner and communicate handoffs clearly during mid-shift or campus transfers

Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing (able to work in Arizona)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience (Telemetry/MedSurg preferred)
• Current ACLS and BLS required; NIHSS required for Neuro Tele units
• Proven ability to titrate cardiac drips (Amio, Cardene, Nitro, Heparin, Dobutamine — titrate down ONLY as required)
• Strong EKG interpretation and dysrhythmia recognition skills (dysrhythmia exam required prior to contract signing)
• Comfortable with floating between units and occasional campus-to-campus travel
• Ability to complete and pass a simulation lab on day one of orientation

Education

• Active RN license (BSN preferred but not required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry nursing and centralized tele monitoring (GE monitors experience a plus)
• EKG interpretation and dysrhythmia recognition
• Cardiac drip titration and hemodynamic monitoring
• MedSurg nursing fundamentals and post-operative care (CABG, post cath, vascular procedures)
• Familiarity with Cerner charting system
• Experience working 12-hour shifts and collaborating with PCTs and unit supervisors
