Shift Type: Night shifts, 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; rotating nights across the week with every-other-weekend requirement (may be every 3rd) and holidays per permanent staff rotation

Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret telemetry and EKGs to detect rhythm changes and escalate concerns promptly
• Provide high-quality neuro and stroke care, including NIHSS assessments and post-TPA monitoring
• Administer medications and manage IV infusion titrations safely and accurately
• Use Cerner for documentation, orders, and communication with the care team
• Collaborate with intensivists, RT, pharmacy, and ancillary services to coordinate patient care
• Support patient flow and handoffs while maintaining a 1:4 patient ratio on Tele Neuro
• Participate in orientation activities including a pass/fail SIM lab and unit-based training
• Float to Cardiac Tele or MedSurg Oncology as needed to support unit staffing

Qualifications

• Active RN license for practice in Arizona
• Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience (telemetry/acute care experience required)
• Travel nursing experience required
• Cerner charting experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification required
• UNA Dysrhythmia Exam required prior to signing contract (2 max attempts)
• Ability to pass a day-one SIM lab (study guides provided)

Education

• Active RN license (required)
• BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and EKG interpretation, including dysrhythmia recognition
• Experience with GE monitor systems
• IV infusion titration and basic drip management
• Care for AICD patients and post-surgical telemetry patients
• Stroke care principles (CVA post TPA, TIAs, head bleeds) and NIHSS application
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and interdisciplinary communication
• Proficient Cerner documentation and electronic charting skills
