Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts: Day shift 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM and Night shift 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; rotating schedule including weekends (minimum 2 out of 6) and holidays as needed

Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and provide high-quality nursing care for patients across the lifespan from pediatrics to geriatrics
• Monitor and interpret telemetry and bedside monitors, acting quickly on abnormal findings
• Administer IV medications, blood products and titratable drips safely and according to protocol
• Manage respiratory support devices including BiPAP, heated high-flow, vents and CPAP as needed
• Document patient care accurately in Meditech and communicate changes to the care team
• Collaborate with the house supervisor, nursing coordinator and interdisciplinary team to ensure safe patient care and appropriate patient placement
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and discharge planning with compassion and clarity
• Respond to acute changes in patient condition and provide appropriate escalation or one-on-one care for critical patients

Qualifications

• Current RN license in good standing
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS and PALS
• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in MedSurg, Telemetry or Pediatrics
• Comfortable titrating drips such as Insulin, Heparin, Cardizem, Lasix and administering blood products
• Experience interpreting cardiac monitors and providing care for respiratory diagnoses
• Meditech charting experience preferred
• Previous travel experience is a plus but not required
• Able to meet radius rule restrictions and RTO requirements for this assignment

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; ADN or diploma acceptable. BSN preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong nursing assessment and patient monitoring skills
• Telemetry and monitor interpretation expertise
• IV medication administration and drip titration skills
• Experience with pediatric through geriatric populations
• Familiarity with respiratory support equipment including BiPAP, high-flow and vents
• Ability to prioritize, triage and manage multiple patients in a MedSurg/Telemetry setting
• Teamwork, clear communication and the ability to float within scope as needed
