Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead shifts as a strong charge nurse and preceptor, ensuring safe, efficient patient flow and mentoring teammates
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms continuously on Phillips telemetry to detect and respond to changes quickly
• Provide high-quality telemetry nursing care for a 31-bed unit at a 1:4 ratio, including post-pacer, new-onset AFib/RVR and step-down patients
• Document accurately and thoroughly in Cerner to maintain continuity of care and compliance
• Collaborate with RT, pharmacy, hospitalists/intensivists and the IV/rapid response teams to coordinate complex patient needs
• Float as needed across MedSurg/telemetry and ICU holds, adapting skills to different care settings professionally
• Respond to standby/call notifications promptly (report within 30 minutes) and participate in the holiday staffing rotation

Qualifications

• Active RN license (California) required
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience (telemetry/acute care preferred)
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Proven charge nurse and/or preceptor experience preferred
• Comfortable reading and interpreting all cardiac rhythms on Phillips telemetry
• Familiarity with Cerner documentation and Omnicell medication systems a plus
• Experience with CPAP/BiPAP, hemodialysis and high-acuity telemetry/stepdown patients helpful

Education

• Active RN license required
• BSN preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Phillips telemetry monitoring systems
• Cerner electronic charting system
• Leadership skills for charge nurse duties and precepting
• Management of high-acuity and post-procedure telemetry patients
• Basic ventilatory support knowledge (CPAP/BiPAP) and familiarity with RT collaboration
• Experience with Omnicell and medication administration workflows
• Strong assessment, critical thinking and communication skills
