Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor acute telemetry patients using centralized monitoring and bedside assessments
• Interpret EKGs and identify dysrhythmias promptly to ensure patient safety
• Titrate cardiac drips safely and per protocol (e.g., Amio, Cardene, Nitro, Heparin; Dobutamine titrate down only)
• Provide direct patient care across Telemetry, Neuro, and MedSurg units and during floating assignments
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (physicians, RTs, pharmacy, PCTs) for coordinated care
• Document assessments, interventions and patient responses accurately in Cerner
• Participate in required simulation lab and dysrhythmia exam as part of credentialing
• Support orientation and mentorship activities during floor-specific training

Qualifications

• Current RN license (ability to practice in Arizona required)
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience (Telemetry/MedSurg/ICU experience strongly preferred)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS prior to start
• Proven ability to titrate cardiac drips and manage telemetry patients
• Comfort with floating across units and campuses, including occasional mid-shift transfers
• Successful completion of a dysrhythmia exam (within 48 hours of offer, 2 max attempts) and pass the day-one sim lab

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) acceptable
• BSN not required for this role

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry monitoring and EKG interpretation skills
• Familiarity with cardiac medications and drip titration protocols
• Experience with Cerner electronic charting system
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple acute patients (1:3-4 ratios common)
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills across units and campuses
• Basic familiarity with post-op cardiac and neuro patient care and stroke (TPA) protocols
