Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, primarily nights: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; self-scheduling with 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule and holiday rotation with permanent staff (may float to day 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM shifts as needed).
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $57 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Interpret cardiac telemetry and ECG strips accurately to guide safe patient care
- Titrate cardiac drips (Cardizem, Heparin, Amiodarone) per physician orders and unit parameters
- Perform IV starts and timely medication administration for ED hold and telemetry patients
- Assist ED staff with vital signs and supportive care while patients await placement
- Float to sister facilities and med/surg/tele/overflow units as needed to maintain safe ratios
- Complete required orientation and competency checks, including a dysrhythmia exam and a sim lab on day one
Qualifications
- Current RN license (able to submit AZ license)
- Minimum BLS and ACLS certifications (required before start)
- Preferably 2 years of strong cardiac telemetry experience
- Proven ability to titrate cardiac drips and interpret dysrhythmias
- Comfortable with Cerner charting and acute care / ED hold workflows
- Able to pass a UNA dysrhythmia exam (up to 2 attempts) and a pass/fail sim lab on orientation day
Education
- Active RN license (AZ)
- Associate degree in Nursing or BSN accepted (BSN not required)
- BLS and ACLS required prior to start
Knowledge & Skills
- Advanced telemetry and dysrhythmia/arrhythmia interpretation
- Familiarity with titratable cardiac drips: Cardizem, Heparin, Amiodarone
- IV starts, medication administration, and ED/acute care protocols
- Electronic charting experience with Cerner
- Strong communication, triage, and team-based collaboration skills
- Comfort working without monitor tech support — RNs read/interpret strips
