Roles & Responsibilities

• Titrate cardiac drips safely and precisely, following unit protocols
• Interpret EKGs and monitor telemetry for dysrhythmias
• Provide high-quality patient care across Telemetry, Neuro, and MedSurg units
• Float between Chandler and Mercy Gilbert campuses as assigned, clocking out/in per policy
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team including RT, pharmacy, and hospitalists
• Perform bedside assessments, document in Cerner, and communicate changes clearly
• Participate in orientation, simulation lab, and required competency evaluations
• Support patient flow in observation areas, post-op recovery, and specialty holds

Qualifications

• Active RN license eligible to work in Arizona (license to submit required)
• Minimum 2 years clinical nursing experience (Telemetry/MedSurg experience preferred)
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications; NIHSS required for Neuro shifts
• Proven ability to titrate cardiac drips and recognize dysrhythmias
• Comfortable with floating to ICU, Cardiac Tele, MedSurg and holding areas
• Must pass a dysrhythmia exam (2 attempts max) prior to contract and a Sim Lab on day one of orientation
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• Ability to work every-other-weekend and required holiday shifts

Education

• Associate Degree or Diploma in Nursing required; BSN preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong EKG interpretation and dysrhythmia recognition skills
• Familiarity with cardiac meds: Amiodarone, Cardene, Nitro, Heparin, Dobutamine (titrate down only)
• Telemetry monitoring (centralized tele) and GE monitor experience
• IV skills including secure lines and medication titration
• Comfortable with Spectralink phones and central monitoring workflows
• Excellent critical thinking, triage and patient monitoring abilities
• Team communication and documentation in Cerner
