Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality acute care across MedSurg, Telemetry and PCU units as a float nurse
• Interpret cardiac monitor strips and manage dysrhythmia care with confidence
• Titrate and manage IV drips (Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Insulin) safely and per protocol
• Care for post-procedural cardiac patients including post-cath and CABG day 3-4 recoveries
• Collaborate with monitor techs, nursing aides and interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care
• Respond to changing patient acuity and accept assignments across both East and West campuses
• Follow unit-specific policies, participate in orientation shifts, and complete required competency testing

Qualifications

• Active RN license to practice in Arizona
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience (float/acute care preferred) and at least 1 year PCU/stepdown experience
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Comfortable with and experienced in titration of common drips and cardiac med management
• Demonstrated competency in ECG/dysrhythmia interpretation (must pass dysrhythmia exam with ≥80% within two attempts prior to contract)
• Experience with Cerner charting preferred
• Ability to work nights, float between units, and meet radius/employment eligibility rules (no CommonSpirit/CHI/Dignity affiliation in past year)

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Nursing Diploma required (BSN not required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry/monitor strip interpretation and dysrhythmia recognition
• IV drip titration and hemodynamic monitoring
• PCU/Stepdown clinical judgment and post-procedure cardiac care
• Familiarity with CPAP/BiPAP/Heated High Flow setups and working with RT
• Effective communication with monitor techs, nurse aides and multidisciplinary teams
• Time management and adaptability in a busy float pool environment
• Proficiency with Cerner electronic charting
