Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor telemetry patients with expert cardiac rhythm interpretation to catch changes early
• Titrate cardiac drips safely and precisely per protocol — this is non-negotiable and critical to patient outcomes
• Provide compassionate, high-quality bedside care across Telemetry, MedSurg, and occasional ICU-level patients
• Interpret EKGs and collaborate with physicians and the care team to implement timely interventions
• Float between units and campuses as needed, maintaining continuity of care and adaptability
• Document thoroughly and accurately in Cerner to ensure seamless communication and patient safety
• Participate in required competency evaluations (dysrhythmia exam, sim lab) and follow orientation requirements
• Support patient/family education and discharge planning to promote recovery and reduce readmissions

Qualifications

• Active RN license (ability to submit required licensure)
• Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience (Telemetry/MedSurg/Acute care preferred)
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required; NIHSS required for Neuro shifts
• Demonstrated ability to titrate cardiac drips and recognize dysrhythmias (dysrhythmia exam required prior to contract)
• Comfortable working 12-hour night shifts and floating across units and between Chandler and Mercy Gilbert campuses
• Experience with Cerner or similar electronic health record systems
• Ability to pass a pass/fail simulation lab on day one of orientation (required)

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Nursing Diploma accepted; BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation (EKG/dysrhythmia recognition)
• Titration of vasoactive and antiarrhythmic drips (Amio, Cardene, Nitro, Heparin, Dobutamine guidance noted)
• Strong patient assessment and acute care nursing skills
• Familiarity with central monitoring systems and GE/Cerner monitoring environments
• IV skills including working with IV teams/SWAT resources and central line basics
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patients with varying acuity
• Effective communication and teamwork across multidisciplinary teams
