Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (day and night): 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; rotation includes nights with every-other-weekend and every-other-holiday schedule; weekly rotations managed by unit (blocked schedules may be considered)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $61 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Monitor telemetry continuously and accurately interpret ECG strips to guide timely interventions
- Administer and titrate IV medications (Amiodarone, Cardizem, Heparin, Nitro, Nipride, Lasix, low-dose Dopamine) per protocol
- Perform thorough patient assessments, recognize changes in condition, and escalate concerns to the interdisciplinary team
- Provide PCU-level stepdown care for adults and geriatric patients after cardiac caths, EP studies, pacemaker cases and similar procedures
- Collaborate with monitor/telemetry techs, respiratory therapists and charge nurses to ensure safe, coordinated care
- Document clinical care clearly and efficiently in Epic, maintaining accuracy for handoffs and legal records
- Float to other areas as needed to support unit census, including PCU, medical-surgical and occasional ER holds/boarding
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse license in the appropriate state (or compact privilege where applicable)
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Tele or PCU experience
- Comfortable reading and interpreting ECG strips independently
- Demonstrated experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips
- Epic experience preferred but not required
- Able to work rotating 12-hour shifts and meet every-other-weekend/holiday requirements
- Travel nurse experience acceptable and welcome
Education
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN). BSN is not required for this role.
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
- IV medication administration and drip titration
- PCU/stepdown patient management and post-procedure cardiac care
- Familiarity with common cardiac meds: Amiodarone, Cardizem, Heparin, Nitro, Nipride, Lasix, low-dose Dopamine
- Troubleshooting BiPAP, trachs and high-flow oxygen devices
- Strong collaboration with telemetry techs and multidisciplinary teams
- Clear, concise charting in Epic and effective clinical communication
