Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour night shifts (primarily nights), typical start/end times include 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; self-scheduled with every-other-weekend requirement; night-focused schedule (12-hour) with some evening overlaps as needed
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $65 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care for adults in a mixed PCU/Oncology/MedSurg stepdown unit
- Administer chemotherapy and other specialty medications safely and per protocol (chemo certification required)
- Monitor and manage hemodynamic and ventilator parameters (CVP, A-line, Swan, EV-1000, ventilator support)
- Titrate drips and infusions (including insulin and cardizem) following unit protocols
- Perform accurate, timely EMR charting in EPIC and ensure documentation meets unit standards
- Lead hourly rounding and patient experience initiatives to improve comfort and outcomes
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team (PT/OT, case managers, social work, dietician) to coordinate patient care
- Serve as a reliable team member who models professionalism, compassion, and teamwork on every shift
Qualifications
- Current, active RN license (able to submit license to work in Nebraska or hold a compact license)
- Chemotherapy certification (CHEMO CERT REQUIRED)
- ACLS and BLS (AHA) required; NIHSS and ONS/ONCC required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience (PCU, MedSurg or Oncology experience highly preferred)
- Experience with EPIC charting; EPIC within 6 months preferred but not a deal breaker
- Comfort with 12-hour night shifts, drip titration, ventilator/hemodynamic monitoring
- Valid driver's license at time of submittal (used to confirm radius rule)
- Ability to complete orientation requirements and pass orientation skills exam (90% required)
Education
- Active RN license; BSN not required (preferred but optional)
Knowledge & Skills
- Oncology and PCU nursing skills including chemotherapy administration and oncology patient management
- Proficient with IV therapy and Alaris IV pumps
- Strong skills in hemodynamic monitoring (CVP, arterial lines, Swan-Ganz parameters, EV-1000)
- Ventilator care fundamentals and ability to monitor respiratory support
- Drip titration experience (insulin, cardizem and other titratable meds)
- Accurate EMR documentation in EPIC and effective communication with care teams
- Ability to work in a fast-paced stepdown unit with mixed acuity and varied ratios
