Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts: Day 06:30 AM - 07:00 PM and Night 06:30 PM - 07:00 AM; schedule assigned by unit schedulers; every other weekend required; holiday coverage as needed (36 guaranteed hours/week)

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-acuity nursing care for stepdown/PCU patients from young adults to geriatrics
- Perform focused patient assessments and prioritize care for sepsis, STEMI, CHF, stroke, respiratory failure, DKA, and multisystem failure
- Interpret cardiac telemetry and respond quickly to dysrhythmias and changes in condition
- Titrate IV drips and set/monitor infusion rates for medications such as heparin, amiodarone, cardizem, nitroglycerin, insulin, and IV antibiotics
- Document thoroughly and accurately in EPIC to ensure continuity of care
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members including RTs, CNAs, and charge nurses to deliver excellent patient outcomes
- Participate in bedside reporting, hourly rounding, and patient education to improve the patient experience
- Assist with admissions, discharges, and rapid patient turnover while maintaining safe care standards
Qualifications
- Active RN license eligible for submission in Nebraska
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care or stepdown nursing experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS certification required
- Strong telemetry interpretation skills and experience reading your own strips
- Experience with IV medication/drip titration and management of titratable drips
- Proficiency with EPIC charting system preferred
- Valid driver's license required at time of submittal (used to confirm radius rule)
- Must pass orientation pass/fail exam with a 90% score (open book) or contract will be terminated
- Candidates may not be full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and Dignity
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
- Critical care assessment and prioritization
- IV infusion management and medication titration
- BiPAP and high-flow oxygen familiarity including Airvo
- Strong clinical documentation skills in EPIC
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and patient education skills
- Ability to float to MedSurg, Inpatient Rehab, or Skilled Care when needed
