Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality Med/Tele and PCU-level nursing care for adult and geriatric patients
• Continuously monitor telemetry and interpret ECG strips to detect and act on cardiac changes
• Titrate and manage common drips (Amiodarone, Cardizem, Heparin, Nitro, Nipride, Lasix, low-dose dopamine) safely and per protocol
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team including physicians, RTs, and monitor techs to optimize patient outcomes
• Troubleshoot respiratory equipment such as BiPAP, trachs, and high-flow devices as needed
• Serve as a patient advocate and provide clear education and support to patients and families
• Document timely and accurate patient care in EPIC and participate in bedside shift reports

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (ND or compact RN license as applicable)
• Minimum 2 years clinical RN experience (Med/Tele/PCU experience required)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
• Proven ability to read and interpret ECG strips and manage telemetry patients
• Experience titrating drips and managing cardiac/stepdown patients
• Familiarity with EPIC preferred
• Willingness to float to related areas (PCU, medical-surgical, ER holds) as needed

Education

• Active RN license in good standing
• BSN preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• PCU/stepdown patient assessment and care planning
• IV drip titration and cardiac medication management
• Familiarity with cardiac cath, EP studies and temporary pacing care
• Experience working with telemetry/monitor tech workflows
• Troubleshooting BiPAP, trach care, and high-flow oxygen therapy
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and team collaboration skills
