Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; typically 3 shifts per week (36 hours guaranteed), option to schedule 4 shifts/week; includes nights and weekends as assigned (day/night rotating)

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor progressive care patients using telemetry and invasive monitoring to detect clinical changes early
- Administer IV cardiac medications and manage complex therapies including transvenous pacing and sheath care with precision
- Provide ventilator and chronic ventilator support and manage chest tubes and peritoneal dialysis patients safely
- Document care thoroughly and efficiently using the Cerner EMR and Pyxis medication systems
- Collaborate with hospitalists, surgeons, and the multidisciplinary team to deliver coordinated cardiac and surgical care
- Educate patients and families about procedures, recovery expectations, and safe discharge planning
- Respond to STEMI/NSTEMI and acute cardiac events, applying ACLS and dysrhythmia recognition skills
Qualifications
- Active, in-good-standing Arizona RN license (required)
- ACLS and BLS certifications required prior to start
- Minimum 1 year of PCU experience required; job posting indicates 2 years of overall experience preferred
- Comfort with telemetry, EKG/dysrhythmia recognition, and IV cardiac medication administration
- Experience with chest tube care, transvenous pacing, arterial/venous sheath pulling and care preferred
- Ability to float to MS/Tele and ICU as needed
Education
- Active RN license in Arizona (required)
- ADN or Nursing Diploma accepted; BSN not required
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and EKG/dysrhythmia recognition
- IV cardiac medication administration and ACLS protocols
- Cerner EMR charting and Pyxis medication dispenser workflows
- Experience with Philips cardiac monitors, Zoll R series, Medtronic pacemakers
- Management of chest tubes, epidurals, PCA pumps, peritoneal dialysis, and chronic ventilators
- Invasive monitoring and post-op cardiac surgery care
