Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor progressive care patients using telemetry and invasive monitoring to detect clinical changes early
• Administer IV cardiac medications and manage complex therapies including transvenous pacing and sheath care with precision
• Provide ventilator and chronic ventilator support and manage chest tubes and peritoneal dialysis patients safely
• Document care thoroughly and efficiently using the Cerner EMR and Pyxis medication systems
• Collaborate with hospitalists, surgeons, and the multidisciplinary team to deliver coordinated cardiac and surgical care
• Educate patients and families about procedures, recovery expectations, and safe discharge planning
• Respond to STEMI/NSTEMI and acute cardiac events, applying ACLS and dysrhythmia recognition skills

Qualifications

• Active, in-good-standing Arizona RN license (required)
• ACLS and BLS certifications required prior to start
• Minimum 1 year of PCU experience required; job posting indicates 2 years of overall experience preferred
• Comfort with telemetry, EKG/dysrhythmia recognition, and IV cardiac medication administration
• Experience with chest tube care, transvenous pacing, arterial/venous sheath pulling and care preferred
• Ability to float to MS/Tele and ICU as needed

Education

• Active RN license in Arizona (required)
• ADN or Nursing Diploma accepted; BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and EKG/dysrhythmia recognition
• IV cardiac medication administration and ACLS protocols
• Cerner EMR charting and Pyxis medication dispenser workflows
• Experience with Philips cardiac monitors, Zoll R series, Medtronic pacemakers
• Management of chest tubes, epidurals, PCA pumps, peritoneal dialysis, and chronic ventilators
• Invasive monitoring and post-op cardiac surgery care
